A pencil illustration for Volume 3. I don't want to falsely inflate people's hopes - I always hated it when publishers showed awesome promo or cover art which subsequently had nothing to do with the book's content.
This illustration will be in Volume 3, but it's not part of a plotted sequence, it's just fancy dressing in the background while a character performs a bit of monologue.
Disclaimers aside, I liked this drawing enough to post it here on it's own. I'd been itching to draw a full-sized ryuu-neko for ages, and the excuse finally presented itself here. I'd like to pretend I had some sophisticated, highly-trained art wisdom guiding my thoughts as I drew this, but my stream-of-consciousness at the time was more along the lines of:
"Yes. Yes. Yes. YES. AWESOME. IT IS BIG. YES. COOL. YES."
...Please don't take that out of context.
The setting is supposed to be Anduruna in it's early history, during some of the wars that took place there. One note - a lot of Dreamkeepers in this pic, nearly all, are using their powers. The halos aren't there because I add them during shading, not penciling, so for now you'll have to use your imaginations.
...Parting note, this certainly isn't the last War-Ryuu-Neko I plan on drawing.
