Another of Ye Olde commissions: This illustration features Mary Minch’s character Mary Mouse, from her ongoing comic Mice. Another vague background, but I’m finding that some of these pictures I really like the softer, less defined backdrops. Not that I’ll ever lose my taste for ludicrously detailed landscapes, but it’s nice to have a few different tools in the box, and this setting in particular gives me a really soothing vibe. If it weren’t for the business end of that sword, I’d feel comfy strolling on into the scene. But you’ve gotta watch out for the swords - especially when wielded by an innocent wide-eyed girl, because they know full well how harmless they look, and this erases any potential guilt they would otherwise feel after wreaking havoc. It’s a good equation to keep in mind; Cute innocent girl = Guiltless painful havoc.

She is really cute. But if she can create havoc, then looks can be very decieving. It reminds me a little of Redwall.

If I remember correctly, I think I saw this character in a few panels of Volume 2.
I should go check out the comic and see what it's all about. ;D

Oh I recall this being Mary's display picture once. So this is where it came from, that explains it. This is a most interesting picture though the tree shadow confused me for just a moment. But it fits the scene quite nicely.
