Description

The next commission for Relaxing Dragon- as he takes his friends into a room of Pure Imagination…  The concept was to take Willy Wonka’s Candy room (The GENE WILDER version, thank you very much) but switch it to a film theme instead, highlighting various genres.

sings "If you want to view paradise, simply look around and view it! Anything you want to, do it. want to change the world? there's nothing... to it."

I really think this captures what you intended it to be, i can totally see the candy room now looking at it. I think its interesting that you used vultures instead of something else to represent the oompa-loompas, to me it gives everything a bit of a darker feel and adds to the subdued brightness of the whole piece.

your style of half anime and half cartoon has always been one of the unique things that i love about your art, and this is a great example.

You have a great grasp of the perspective, especially with the chairs. the only thing that i take issue with is the scale. you're trying to create the impression of a gigantic room and i think a few things throw that off, mostly the dome at the top. to me it kind of makes everything much smaller. Each door looks bigger than the next and though you used the buzzards to bring things into perspective it seems like there is a lot missing from the mid field. Also i love the popcorn stands, but you could have some more concessions around, it might tie it in a bit closer to the willy wonka theme you have achieved.

That being said i love how technical everything is from your characters to the projectors laying around everywhere. Being cheerful but also a bit sinister is impressive ^^
